I love eating a healthy balanced breakfast because it helps jumpstart healthy habits all day long. This morning I had a bowl of Quaker Oatmeal Squares with blueberries and banana. When I am deciding what to eat, I always try to include protein and/or fiber at each meal.
Sources of Fiber: Whole Grains, Whole Fruit, Legumes, Veggies, Nuts
Sources of Protein: Meat, Fish, Poultry, Beans, Nuts, Seeds, and Dairy
A little healthy fat is also good to include, because it is slow to leave your stomach and is what gives you that great feeling of satiety. So when you are looking to create a meal, try to include at least two food groups and bulk up the fiber and protein to leave you full for hours.
