Three things I am kinda LOVING right now.
1) Creamy Oatmeal. The trick to creamy, not grainy oatmeal is (a) cooking the oats in milk. I usually do about 1/3 milk if I’m making a big batch; and (b) stirring the Oats vigorously while they cook. Just keep on stirring away. I must say that soft, pillowy, creamy oats are the best!! I love the classic bowl of oatmeal, simple but perfect (oh no, I sound like Starbucks!): a dab of milk, sprinkle of raisins, and spoon of brown sugar. Sooooo satisfying. (the picture below is last night’s dinner…can we say craving!!! )

2) Coffee. Can’t get enough lately. I’ve even been loving it iced with milk and sweetener, sipping slowly while I work or wrap presents. I’m going to try my agave nectar in it tomorrow! Let you know how that goes.

3) Holiday Decore. Awwww, tis the season to be cozily snowed in! I keep our tree lit whenever we’re home. This picture was on our anniversary morning
.

Work was busy today!! All of the KAI offices (DC, Seattle, Spokane) are transferring over to a new server, so our email and files are all being transferred over, or “migrating” as the techies say =), to the new location. It’s a good thing because the new server will be much more stable, have a larger memory and archive, and will make work and saving documents more efficient, but it’s been a little stressful for employees in the process. After work, we decided to bundle the whole family up (well, all 3 of us, minus Sammi) and head to Costco to pick up pictures for my mom’s Christmas gift. We decided to grab a quick dinner there and then a few staples as well. I ate 1, half slice of pizza for dinner (their pieces are HUGE) because I wasn’t all that hungry for some reason, but it hit the spot. Groceries included: 5-pack of Romaine, sack of bell peppers, bananas, hummus, and Agave Nectar…I LOVE this stuff!! Delicious in tea!

Afterwards we headed to the mall to do a little last minute shopping (aka Steve shopping for me!!
), and found some great workout gear. I got Steve a chin-up/pull-up/push-up bar and he got me a vibrant blue yoga mat to do floor work on. Ooooooo, I’m so excited!!! After shopping, we hurried home to finish mom’s present…I think it turned out pretty well, what do you think?
